iPad Science Tools

The great thing about using the ipad in the science classroom is not so much the wealth of resource apps that are available, but the ability to collect, manipulate and analyze data all in one place and the student's ability to collaborate and share ideas and questions in a productive way. In my lab, students would typically go into the lab with their lab notebook and pen, then come out of the lab and rewrite data in a spreadsheet or gdocs lab summary or report. With the ipad, I'm hoping that students will be able to use the device throughout the lab both as a lab notebook, measuring device, analysis tool and communications medium -- all in one place. While certainly the research and simulation resources are wonderful on the ipad, there is nothing like doing science in order to learn it. Below are a collection of tools for both the doing and viewing of science. (For report writing and analysis, see the productivity and math pages)
